With great sadness, the whole community of St. John the Baptist mourns the loss of our Deacon Ed Fox. Father Paolo and Father Mark extend their condolences and express their own sadness to Deacon Ed’s family and the whole parish community. Our priests remain available to anyone who is mourning and struck with grief at this time and invite all to attend his funeral Mass on Tuesday, August 1st at 11:00am.

Volunteer catechists are needed to help share and teach the Catholic faith who students grades 1 to 8 who are not enrolled in Catholic school. Faith formation meets on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:45pm beginning September 14th. There are two remaining events in the Faith and Beauty series: - Pysanky Egg Workshop, Sunday, May 14th at 2:00pm in the church basement. Create beautiful Pysanky eggs according to Ukrainian tradition; taught by Karen Eckrich. Ages 10+ due to open flame. Registration required. Contact parish office. - Marian Artwork Talk, Sunday, May 21st at 2:00pm in the main church. Hear from Elly Tullis about her experience of painting a series of works focused on the Blessed Mother and how it impacted her life.
Father Paolo will be leading a prayer walk on Saturday, May 13th beginning at 9:00am at Foster Park with donuts. The group will depart to walk the entire perimeter of our parish boundaries and pray for all of the souls within it. The entire loop is just over 9 miles. If you cannot walk that far, you're invited to walk the first two miles and then catch a shuttle with one of our Knights of Columbus back to the start. Please bring your own snacks and water. Lunch will be paid for at Ya Boys Chicken and Fish. The estimated return time is 3:30pm, but it could be earlier depending on how quickly the group moves.

The Gospel for Sunday, January 29th, the Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time is The Beatitudes, the beginning of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. There are 23 sections of The Sermon on the Mount. There are 24 days between Sunday, January 29th and Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Spend these days listening to Jesus preach His Sermon on the Mount to you. What is Jesus saying to you? How do you want to respond to Him? How do you want to live differently? On Day 24, make your prayer, fasting and almsgiving commitments for Lent. Day 25 is Ash Wednesday; come to Mass and live The Sermon on the Mount.
Father Andrew will be leading a Holy Hour on Tuesday, February 7th @ 7:00pm at the Mother Theodore Guerin Chapel at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. All are invited to come pray for vocations in our diocese.
