Join in celebrating the launch of parishioner Nathaniel Binversie's new book, The Strongest Man I Know, on Friday, June 4 from 4-6pm at 1101 W. Rudisil Boulevard. The evening begins with kickball at 4:15pm, followed by a reading of the book at 5:15pm, and light refreshments. Whether we desire it or not, children look to the example of their fathers. The Strongest Man I Know is a story about Luke, a boy whose identity was lost in his father’s display of weakness, and about a grandfather, whose wisdom can aid all men in setting our uncertain identities on a firm foundation. The Strongest Man I Know is the book every man should be reading to the little ones in their life: children, nieces, nephews, god-children, or grandchildren.
Join the Stewardship Team in cleaning the church on Saturday, June 12 from 8:00am until Noon. Volunteers should meet in the vestibule and bring rags and buckets.
The Pentecost Collection for the education of seminarians will take place the weekend of May 15 and 16. 100% of these funds are used to educate our diocesan seminarians. Please continue to pray for our seminarians and support the funding of their education through this important collection. To donate, please use your Pentecost Collection envelope or feel free to donate online at diocesefwsb.org/diocesan-donations. Thank you for your generous response!
The Works of Mercy Team is reaching out to all St. John's parishioners who might be in need of our assistance. The committee has volunteers who can help with yard work, light housekeeping, and running errands. If you could use this type of assistance or would like to volunteer your time or talent, please contact the parish office and ask to be put in touch with Thom.
Our maintenance department is looking for volunteers to help with regular groundskeeping of the campus this summer. Opportunities to help include mowing, trimming, hedging, and similar tasks. Volunteers must be college age or older. Please contact Stu at [email protected] or call the parish office if you are interested in helping out, even if it is just a couple of times this summer.
Thank you to all from our parish who donated to Redeemer Radio's Spring Sharathon! We exceeded our parish goal and raised $4,380. All in all, Redeemer Radio was able to raise $255,500 for Catholic radio.
