Those interested in potentially converting to the Catholic faith or adults in need of Confirmation are invited to our Becoming Catholic program. Father Paolo is able to take Mass intentions with him to Italy. All intentions and money ($10/Mass) must be turned in to the parish office (4525 Arlington) by June 30th. Cash or check accepted. Checks made out to St. John the Baptist, Memo: Mass Intentions.
If you have any interest in helping the poor right here in the south side of Fort Wayne, the St. John’s/St. Patrick’s conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society will be hosting an information meeting on January 31st at 7:00pm in Providence House. The conference is in need of a few more members who would be trained to make calls to those in our area and help distribute the funds from the St. Vincent de Paul collection. The work is not demanding and the rewards really are fulfilling. If you are interested, please join us!
The 2025 Mass Book is now open for bookings on a first come, first booked basis. It has long been a custom in the Church to make a small offering to the priest to celebrate a Mass with a particular intention, most especially for our deceased loved ones. In our area, the usual offering for a Mass is $10. Our parish policy is that you can schedule 12 Masses each year per intention, with only 3 of these Masses being at the weekend 4:30pm, 8:00am, and/or 10:30am Masses. To schedule Masses, contact Karen at [email protected] or call 260-744-4393. If you plan to come into the office to book more than 5 Masses, please call ahead to ensure it is a good time. Thank you!
Several young adults and young families of our parish community have been gathering for Mass and brunch on the First Saturday of each month. We'd like to invite any interested young adults, young couples, or young families to join us for our next brunch on February 3. Bring something to share, or just come and enjoy food and fellowship! Contact Ava Frecker ([email protected]) for more info and the address.
During Advent, the Saturday morning Mass will be at 7:00am instead of 8:15am to continue the custom of an Advent Rorate Mass at sunrise. These Masses will take place in the church.
A generous benefactor has offered to match up to $25,000 in gifts made to St. John the Baptist SGO fund between now and December 31st. Your gift helps students in need attend our school. The Scholarship Granting Organization of Northeast Indiana (SGONEI) was founded in 2011 to provide families with scholarships to attend the Catholic schools in our diocese. Donations to SGOs are directed to the school of your choice and are eligible to receive a 50% credit toward your state tax liability. Individuals, corporations, partnerships, LLCs, PCs, and self-employed are all eligible for tax credit. Unlike a tax deduction, where your charitable donation can be removed from your taxable income, a credit directly reduces your tax liability "off the bottom line". Click the link to make your gift today, and make sure to direct it to our school!
