The Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 by Fr. Michael McGivney as a Catholic fraternity for men that also provided financially for families affected by illness or the death of their breadwinner. It has since grown to include thousands of councils around the world.
About the Bishop John D'Arcy Council, Council #16396:
We are Catholic men building a bridge back to faith. There is much good and necessary work to be done in this world, and that's what Knights do, in the domestic church of our families and in our parish St. John the Baptist.
Meeting times: 3rd Tuesday of every month, 6-7pm, Providence House
Key events done throughout the year: We aim to help with whatever needs our pastor, parish, and bishop identify for us, including past events such as blood drives, parish picnics, festivals, fish fry's, name tag days, serving Mass on holy days of obligation, Support Our Seminarians, and our adopt-a-highway clean-up days.
