Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
On May 22, St. John the Baptist will hold our annual stewardship commitment Sunday called
Everyone Has A Gift. It is an opportunity to give thanks to God for the growth of our parish over the past year and also consider where He wants to lead us in the year to come.
St. John the Baptist is growing. Our parish membership is growing. Our school enrollment is growing. Our ministries, outreach, catechesis, and fellowships are growing.
We’re one year into Cornerstone, our five year plan. In the past year we’ve established a new parish council that is constantly and intentionally about the work of every aspect of the mission of the Gospel.
Our school enrollment has increased under the wonderful leadership of Principal Mary Keefer, approaching 300 students. We will be making significant increases in our teachers salaries. Every window in the school was replaced at an investment of over $300,000. Two of our parishioners began lifelong consecrations to Jesus Christ and His Church: Anne Therese Stephens as a consecrated virgin and Brian Isenbarger as a transitional deacon on the way to ordination as a priest.
Our parish is bearing good fruit. And there’s more for us to do. Some of our hopes and dreams include adding an elevator to our church basement, repairs and renovations to Providence House, improvements to our school bathrooms, as well as more catechesis, formation, ministries, and fellowships for all our parishioners.
In order to continue the good work of St. John the Baptist, I ask you to take part in our stewardship program, Everyone Has A Gift. Enclosed is a Commitment Card where I invite you to renew your financial support of our parish. Your commitment is tremendously vital in helping us plan, and budget for, the future of our parish.
Completing and submitting your Commitment Card is easy. Simply:
Know of my daily prayers for you and all our parish families. Please keep our parish family of St. John the Baptist in yours.
Sincerely,
Fr. Andrew Budzinski
